I’m taking part in on CANCELLED to celebrate the power of community fundraising in the fight to beat cancer.

Relay For Life brings together teams of family and friends to fundraise for life-saving cancer research. Teams, cancer survivors and volunteers then unite as a community to honour everyone who has been affected by cancer and celebrate the money raised for research.

The festival is focused around a 24 hour relay where teams take it in turns to walk all day and all night to show that together we’ll do whatever it takes to beat cancer.

The Brightsiders are a team of ‘relayers’ consisting of the most important things in life, friends and family. We are uniting together to help and support this important cause which is unfortunately all too close to our hearts, Cancer Research.  In supporting this charity that works so tirelessly researching this awful disease we hope that many a life will be saved and the chances of recovering fully from all types of cancer improved.  We hope that new treatments will be developed and we also dare to hope that one day there will be a cure.

Our team name comes from our favourite song “Mr Brightside”, a song which has lifted our spirits, made us sing out loud and dance like crazy people many a time over the long years of friendship.  The positive energy of the song reflects our team spirit and determination to enjoy life … whatever it may bring you.

All the money raised will support Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research.
